Animal Trainee Pigs

The JSR Farming Group are one of the UK’s leading pig breeding companies based in Southburn, East Yorkshire. We produce our own commercial pigs, bred from our own top quality breeding stock. The JSR Academy is committed to training and developing the next generation of skilled Pig technicians.

We are looking to recruit Pig Trainee’s to join the JSR Academy. The successful candidate will gain a good grounding in general animal husbandry and will then spend time in different areas of the business, to widen their knowledge.

We are looking for proactive, honest and reliable team members who have a keen interest in the welfare of animals. The Scheme includes a competitive wage and full training, based on the Certificates of Competence in Pig Husbandry and Animal Welfare.

There are no formal entry requirements, though a keen interest in pigs is essential. The Scheme will run for 18-24 months depending on the progression of the individual. All training will be provided ‘on-farm’.
